French Embassy Postgraduate Scholarships for Ghanaians in France 2020

The French Embassy in Ghana is offering the masters and Degree scholarship programme in for the 2020/2021 academic session.

Within the framework of academic cooperation and student mobility between and Ghana for the 2020-2021 academic year, the French Embassy in Ghana at their pace are willing to offer a part funding scholarship to meritorious students at the masters level.

Worth of Award

The scholarship award covers;

For Master’s Degree Applicants, ‘Co-shared’ Scholarships:

  • One (1) return ticket to France
  • Free Visa
  • Free basic registration fees to an institution of higher education in up to a maximum of €5,000 per year
  • Social Coverage
  • Partial monthly stipend (remaining amount to be taken in charge by the student = Approximately €350/month)
  • Allowance adapted to the duration of the programme followed

For Applicants, ‘Co-shared’ Scholarships:

  • Three (3) stays in of six (6) months each, over a three-year period including:
  • Three (3) return tickets to (One (1) for each stay)
  • Free Visa
  • Free basic registration fees to an institution of higher education in up to a maximum of €5,000 per year
  • Social Coverage
  • Partial monthly stipend (remaining amount to be taken in charge by the student = Approximately €350/month)

Eligibility

  • The eligibility criteria for 2020 are as follows:
  • Applicants must be of Ghanaian Nationality.
  • Age limit: 35 years for Master’s Degree applicants and 40 years for applicants.
  • Applicant must obtain a bachelor’s degree for a masters programme
  • Applicants with First Class or Second Class Upper on their Degree will be given priority consideration.
  • Mastery of French: French Proficiency is not a requirement for application.
  • Master’s Degree students who speak little or no French at all, can apply to a wide range of programmes taught in English by various French Universities.
  • Mastering of French Language would be an asset. Note that certain universities require a minimum level of B2 to pursue programmes taught in French.
  • For PhDs, candidates can do their research and write their thesis in English.

How to Apply

  • Applicants are required to submit hard and soft copies of their application forms
  • Soft Copy: Applications must be sent to [email protected] The subject of the message should include the first name and SURNAME of the applicant.
  • Hard Copy: Applications must be submitted or sent to the Cooperation and Cultural Affairs
    Department (SCAC) at the French Embassy in Ghana, Fourth Circular Road, Cantonments, Accra, P. O. Box 187 Accra.
  • An acknowledgement of receipt of a complete application (hard and soft copy) will be sent to applicants via email.In the case where only one format of the application has been received, the application will be considered incomplete and shall not be considered for selection.
    Other documents include;
  • Copy of birth certificate.
  • Application form
  • Cover letter
  • Reference Letter from your Ghanaian University
  • Academic file: Copies of full academic transcripts and degrees
  • Proof of Registration or pre-registration with a French university for a master’s degree or a PhD.
  • Detailed Curriculum Vitae
  • Documents describing the financial situation of the applicant (certificate of scholarship for studies in progress, payslips, or bank statements of students or parents).
